Trigg Member Joins Helicopter Crew!

Mum of 3 Kirsten Hill has found time in her busy schedule to join the Helicopter Crew! She registered her interest after seeing a post on SLSWA Facebook page. Info sessions were conducted at Rous Heads base on 30 April and then we were invited to complete a written application addressing scenarios and outcomes as well as experience.
From these applications, 35 were invited to attend fitness training where we had to complete a timed swim, water entry at heights, weighted body drags and general information on further recruitment. Those selected will now attend crew school which will comprise Under Water Helicopter Training, further fitness and theory-based tests, and attending crew school each Saturday over the next 8-10 weeks including flying hours.

Positions to be filled include Air Crew and Rescue Crew and there are full-time paid positions, casual/part-time paid positions, and voluntary hours both metro based and out of Bunbury covering the SW.
Kirsten is loving the experience and meeting many new but like-minded people. %%post_excerpt%%

Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club acknowledges the traditional owners, the Whadjuk People of the Noongar Nation, of the beach on which we work and play. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and are grateful for their continuing connection to the land, sea and sky.
