Aussies Day 2 Recap – Final day of Youth events!

Cool conditions were forecasted in Perth on the second day of the Youth Championships, with Trigg Island SLSC youth members, getting ready to compete in the final day of events, which spanned across relays, beach flags and the 2km Ocean Swim.
On day 2, our member’s showed grit and determination throughout their events, with the addition of an electric crowd of family, and supporters whom packed out “The Cauldron” (Scarborough Beach Ampitheatre) during the beach flag events.
In total we had 17 member’s reach the finals of events for the day, which is an amazing effort considering the caliber of competition they faced, and a total of 9 youth’s receiving medals (along with 3 senior club member’s receiving medals)

🥇 Oliver Browne – 2km Open Swim U13 Male Champion
🥇 Michael Cook – 2km Open Swim 75 + Years Male Champion
🥇 Trigg Island Team A (Chris Jiang, Billy Hawkes, Oliver Browne, Tadhg Smith) – U13 U14 Male Surf Team Champions

🥈 Brad Headling – 2km Open Swim 45-49 years

🥉 Luke Upfold – 2km Open Swim 50-54 Years
🥉 Billy Hawkes – U13 Male Beach Flags
🥉 Eleanor Flowers – 2km Open Swim U15
🥉 Trigg Island Team A (Elyn Bawden & Milly Kok) – U14 & U15 Female Board Rescue

We are very proud of our Youth members, and the comradery, effort and sportsmanship they demonstrated over the 2 days of events, and look forward to watching their continued growth and successes in future years.
